Please note that Zygi Fishing Shelter is not an official port of entry.
Update to Rules - There was a no fishing policy in the harbour, but this has now been over turned by DFMR.
General – The staff are on the whole friendly and helpful. As the fishing shelter is an ongoing project, information will be updated when it becomes available from DFMR.
Rules.
No Dog Fouling / No Cycling / No Swimming / No Littering and no Motorbikes are allowed. Please follow these Rules as there may be a fine imposed if the rules are not adhered too.
Daily visits to Zygi, requirments are as follows.
Size and Name of Vessel – Time and Date - Name of Company.
Pre-announcement of your arrival to the office, 3 Days notice is required for a mooring place to drop off passengers to visit Zygi Village then pick up passengers after 1-3 hours later.
Open - All year round.
Office 07.30-18.00 and Wednesdays 07.30-14.30.
These hours maybe extended during the summer months.
Applications for moorings/berths and professional fishing licence will be in October.
Disable there are facilities for wheelchair access.
Sailing Yachts are only permitted to enter Zygi Shelter for emergency repairs only.
Toilets are available to the public but there are only two available , you will need to get the keys from the office.
Rates for 2011 /2012- when it becomes available from DFMR.
Arrival out of hours – Not known.
Formalities- Those arriving or departing by Leisure Craft - Motorboat can complete all formalities at the offices.
All Fishing Licence forms can be obtained from the staff at the Office.

Boatyard Facilities & Services - There is a hard standing Boat Park with CCTV security and lighting where vessels can be maintained, i.e. washing and all repairs. This can be arranged for short term & long term rates. Please enquire as these spaces will be in demand.
Shopping and Provisions- Most provisions can be obtained in Zygi, a 5 minute walk away. There are 3 supermarkets in the village.
Bank or ATM – Co-op Bank exchange in the village
Butane/Camping Gas/Propane – In the village, although it can probably be delivered.
Ice - Not known.
Restaurants & Eating Out - Numerous restaurants. As Zygi is famous throughout Cyprus, the restaurants are very well attended at weekends so book early for a table. Try a delicious Fish Meze, comprising of 15 to 20 dishes!
Transport - Local Bus Service – New but no timetables as yet, use of a car is the best option for now. Taxis – Local Taxi Firms.
